Hi, I’m Chris Sullivan. I’ve been a musician all my life. I started taking guitar lessons at the age of six in Spain from a Flamenco virtuoso. I have continued my study ever since with written classical guitar music alongside American traditions of folk, jazz, ragtime, blues, soul, and rock and roll. I have a deep interest in the Cuban, Caribbean, and Brazilian musical traditions and have visited Cuba, Brazil and New Orleans to play and study with musicians from those traditions.
In addition to solo gigs, I perform and record with the following bands: The Swells, Big Maracas, Western Movies, Warren Byrom and the Fabled Canelands, Otto Helmuth, The Yonders, The Swells Brass Band.
I work with students of all ages, from beginner to advanced, to create a program suited to their individual musical goals. I strive to keep lessons fun while teaching musical fundamentals and techniques.
